Good practices in the use of information technology and communication (ITC) by university students in Ecuador

With the Purpose to do a good practice guide for the management of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the teaching-learning process for Higher Education Institutions in Ecuador, the questionnaire has been conducted to actual 906 students of two Universities representatives of Ecuador (Quito y Guayaquil) and results were grouped by age, gender and study levels.
It was observed that the most students is less than 20 years old and the men are a minority in the first levels; generally younger students are using the latest technology. The good practice guide proposal in this paper should be considered in the admission process in all Ecuadorian Universities, to ensure that the competences of these, are aligned with the needs of the university and society; supporting specially to continued improvement required by each institution.
