Abstract

Business management requires that the financial information presented be useful, timely and, above all, reasonable; however, different factors motivate companies to use creative practices, such as a strategy or fraud to improve their financial position. This situation complicates the auditor's work when examining the financial statements, since professionals in this area must implement Audit techniques, tests and procedures that reduce the risk of non-detection of creative practices in financial information regarding the which they pronounce in their opinion.  For this reason, this research seeks to validate a measurement instrument that allows determining how the use of Creative Accounting affects companies in the Audit process. Through an expert validation process using the Delphi methodology, once the instrument was validated it was applied to a sample of 150 auditors, the data collected was subjected to a multivariate evaluation using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and the Equation Model. structural. As a result, a measurement instrument was obtained to measure the behavior of the Audit Process variable divided into three dimensions Planning, Execution and Results and the Creative Accounting variable divided into two dimensions Strategy and Fraud with 25 items in total, determining that the goodness of fit, its convergent validity, reliability and trustworthiness are adequately adjusted.
