Health determinants that have an impact on arterial hypertension in people over 18 years of age in the Rumiñahui canton

The world population has increased its life expectancy, which results in an increase in the prevalence of non-communicable diseases. The objective of this work was to identify health determinants that may have an impact on blood pressure figures in individuals over 18 years of age in the Rumiñahui canton. Methodology: descriptive study, cross section, and qualitative approach, population 120 people. A questionnaire with 32 questions was applied. Results of the Human Biology block prevailed individuals between 18 and 30 years of age, being the female sex the one with the highest incidence with 78 women, highlighting the consumption of alcohol with 33% being the preponderant habit in men, 12 sedentary women for 15% in the Lifestyle block is the one with the highest frequency, people tend to maintain unhealthy behaviors. It was concluded that the factors that affect health related to lifestyles are associated with the female sex, being the determinant with the greatest preponderance and which can influence the possible appearance of arterial hypertension. It is suggested to work on the elaboration of strategies to promote habits towards more beneficial ways of life.
