Introduction: Training nursing professionals must be comprehensive, since this profession provides care to all patients with health needs. The UNIB.E nursing career program is focused on nursing care and does not include on its subjects topics on palliative patients and their care. The objective of this research is to identify the training needs of nursing programs on palliative care at the Universidad Iberoamericana del Ecuador. The methodology is qualitative, with a systematic review design, of the last five years, on regional and international databases, applying the PRISMA 2020 documentary review method. Results:1. Training on patients with palliative care for nursing students. 2.- Include non-substantive changes in the nursing career programs, regarding palliative care in oncological and non-oncological patients. Conclusion: The nursing career at UNIB.E has the need to implement a palliative care syllabi in the existing subjects, as the main basis for training nursing graduates, since it is part of the care that comprehends this profession and the current demand of the society.
