Abstract

The manifestation of musculoskeletal injuries is related to age and is directly linked to work activity, producing pain and limitation of mobility due to inflammatory processes. Which, over time, can degenerate soft tissues such as muscles, tendons and ligaments. In 2017, the Ibe-ro-American Strategy for Safety and Health at Work evaluated working conditions in various countries, revealing that 37% of respondents perceive a negative impact of their work activities on health. The most frequent symptoms were in the back (49.7%), neck (40.5%) and/or upper limbs (26.2%). The lack of standardized studies in Ecuador on the relationship between repe-titive movements (Ocra Index >3.5), manual handling of loads (MMC) and forced postures in cleaning personnel highlights the need to investigate these factors to improve working condi-tions and reduce alleged occupational diseases.
