surveillance, ambidextrous organization, production.Abstract
In a society with increasingly dynamic organizations in the production of data, but not yet fast in its processing and systematic application (despite having increasingly complex technologies in their analysis). The adaptive capacity of organizations, and the application of the best tools for data interpretation, constitute strategic supports for lasting competitive advantage.
In this context, the exploration and action processes - efficient and effective - on the findings of opportunities and threats, constitute high quality information input generators for strategic decision making in senior management. This is only achieved under the
integration of Surveillance - Intelligence - Prospective (VIP) processes, each of which has activities and tools of different complexity levels.
On the other hand, the speed, truthfulness and relevance in the analysis of the data generated by the VIP process, constitutes critical success factors for the correct decision making. On the other hand, the ability to absorb new knowledge (supported by their learning speed, organizational culture, technological capabilities and flexibility of adaptation) is the ideal environment for the VIP process and its application in organizations. This environment is called the ambidextrous organization (Fillipi et al., 2012).
